Steve began teaching himself guitar at the age of 6 after being influenced by the guitar sounds of Duane Eddy and The Shadows. He went on to win a place at the highly prestigious Royal Academy of Music studying Classical Guitar, Double-Bass & Composition and where in 1989, his guitar playing earned him the John Mundy prize for ‘excellence in the playing of a stringed instrument’. Steve is a very fine guitarist, who in this case ventures into blues, jazz and Celtic rock. And now...the track 'Emily' has just been awarded the 'Outstanding Achievement In Songwriting' award from the latest 'Great American Songwriting Contest'. This piece was one of the top 5 winners in the Instrumental Category!
